1. Summary
RMCA does not set cookies on its current public websites, and does not use analytics, advertising or tracking storage of any kind.
Because there is no optional storage to consent to, no consent banner is displayed. RMCA does not deploy a banner for appearance where there is nothing for you to agree to, as that would misrepresent what the websites actually do.
2. Scope and review date
This notice covers the current public websites at https://www.rmca.org.uk, https://www.fdrc.org.uk and https://www.pscr.org.uk.
The inventory recorded below reflects a technical review of the deployed production sites carried out on 26 August 2026, covering cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, analytics, pixels, tag managers, embedded media, anti-abuse and CAPTCHA storage, and consent-state storage.
3. Inventory result
As at the review date, the following were checked and none was found:
- first-party cookies;
- third-party cookies;
localStorageentries;sessionStorageentries;- analytics or measurement tools of any kind;
- advertising, remarketing, conversion or social pixels;
- tag managers or tag containers;
- embedded third-party media or social players;
- CAPTCHA or anti-abuse storage;
- consent-state or consent-banner storage;
- cross-site or cross-device identifiers.
No Set-Cookie response header is issued by the websites, and no optional analytics or advertising storage was detected.
4. Technologies that are genuinely used
For completeness, the following are used, and none of them stores data on your device for tracking purposes:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | First or third party | Duration | Domain | Consent required |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Browser HTTP cache | Your browser, per standard HTTP response headers | Re-use of already-downloaded pages, stylesheets, scripts and images | Strictly necessary delivery function; not an identifier | First party | Controlled by your browser and clearable at any time | rmca.org.uk, fdrc.org.uk, pscr.org.uk | No — no cookie is set and no identifier is stored |
| Self-hosted font files | RMCA, served from RMCA's own domain | Rendering the site typefaces | Strictly necessary delivery function | First party | Cached as a static asset only | rmca.org.uk, fdrc.org.uk, pscr.org.uk | No — no third-party font request is made and no data is sent to a font provider |
| Server request logs | Vercel, as hosting provider | Site delivery, availability and security | Server-side logging; not device storage | First party (processor) | Platform log-retention window; see the Privacy Notice | Not applicable — nothing is stored on your device | No — no information is stored on or read from your device |
Your browser's ordinary cache is a browser function rather than a storage technology RMCA places for its own purposes, and it can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.
5. Why there is no consent banner
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, consent is required before storing information on, or gaining access to information stored on, a user's device, except where the storage is strictly necessary to provide a service the user has requested.
RMCA places no cookies and no other device storage for its own purposes, whether necessary or optional, and does not access information already stored on your device. There is therefore nothing for which consent is required and nothing meaningful for you to accept, reject or manage.
If RMCA later introduces any non-essential storage or access technology, then before it is deployed RMCA will:
- block it until consent is given, where consent is required;
- present Accept optional, Reject optional and Manage choices with equal prominence, with no pre-ticked options and no design that favours acceptance;
- provide a persistent Cookie settings control so a choice can be changed or withdrawn at any time;
- update this notice with the exact technology, provider, purpose and duration before the technology goes live.
6. Future services
Authenticated services that are planned but not currently operational — including participant applications, institutional evidence rooms, FDRC case handling and private PSCR evidence access — will require strictly necessary session and security technologies when they launch.
Those technologies are not deployed today. They will be documented in this notice, or in a layered notice for the relevant service, before that service becomes available.
7. Controlling storage in your browser
Because RMCA sets no cookies and no device storage, there is nothing here for you to remove. You can still review and clear site data, and block cookies generally, through your browser settings. Blocking storage will not degrade these websites, because they do not rely on it.
Third-party websites reached through external links operate their own cookies and storage under their own notices, which RMCA does not control.
8. Review
This inventory is re-checked when a new script, embed, measurement tool, form, authentication route or third-party service is introduced, and the review date above is updated when that happens.
